Raul Rosas Jr. beats Raoni Barcelos by fifth-round TKO
Raul Rosas Jr. defeated Raoni Barcelos after the Brazilian was hurt during a late takedown at UFC Vegas 121.

Raul Rosas Jr. won by technical knockout at 1:38 of the fifth round after Raoni Barcelos fell during a late takedown and could not continue, according to the UFC’s official results. Barcelos was taken to a hospital after leaving the Octagon on a stretcher. The UFC said he was conscious when he was transported.
How Rosas Jr. finished Barcelos
Barcelos controlled much of the middle part of the bantamweight fight. He used takedowns, clinch work and punches to build an apparent lead before the final round. A scorecard later shown by the UFC gave Barcelos three rounds on each judge’s card before the stoppage.
Rosas Jr. changed his strategy in the fifth round. He traded strikes with Barcelos and then secured a takedown near the end of the fight. Barcelos fell onto his back and showed little movement. Rosas Jr. signaled for the referee to stop the contest before landing more ground strikes.
The result gave Rosas Jr. the main-event victory at UFC Vegas 121 in Las Vegas. The UFC described the fight as his sixth consecutive win in the organization. Globo reported that the result was his seventh victory in eight UFC fights.
Ailin Pérez wins the women’s bantamweight co-main event
Ailin Pérez defeated Norma Dumont by unanimous decision, with all three judges scoring the women’s bantamweight fight 29-28. Pérez won the first round with striking and a late takedown. Dumont answered with a takedown and stronger striking in the second round. Pérez pressed Dumont against the fence in the third round.
The fight continued to draw attention after the final horn. Security personnel separated Pérez and Dumont before the result was announced. Pérez danced after hearing the decision, and Dumont kicked her. Pérez later said Dumont had treated her “like a prostitute,” according to Yahoo Sports.
Pérez entered the fight with a chance to strengthen her position in the women’s bantamweight division. Her seventh straight UFC win also came before a planned title fight between Kayla Harrison and Amanda Nunes at UFC 334 on Nov. 14. Bloody Elbow reported that Pérez had offered to serve as the backup fighter if either woman could not compete.
