NFL clears Brazil field for Cowboys-Ravens game Sunday

The NFL insists the playing surface in Rio de Janeiro is safe for Sunday's game between the Dallas Cowboys and Baltimore Ravens. NFL Field Director Nick Pappas said there is “no need to worry” after inspectors reviewed the Maracanã Stadium field alongside representatives from the players' union, ProFootballTalk reported.

“Things check out. We’ve made additional improvements to the field that we think were helpful,” Pappas said.

Kickoff is set for 3:25 p.m. CT at Maracanã Stadium for the first NFL game played in Brazil. DallasCowboys.com lists the broadcast on CBS Sports and NFL+, with local radio coverage on KRLD-FM. Jim Nantz will handle play-by-play duties alongside analyst JJ Watt.

Both teams enter the matchup with 1-1 records. The Cowboys are coming off a victory over the Washington Commanders, while the Ravens lost to the New Orleans Saints last week.
